I started in the travel business as a part-time employee, on the suggestion of a friend when computer reservations were just getting started. I taught myself the computer systems, the reservations systems, and definitely got the “travel bug”!
My first trip abroad was to the Netherlands with KLM – ten glorious days seeing and experiencing everything from The Hague, Rotterdam, the Dutch countryside, and, of course, unforgettable Amsterdam. That trip sealed it – making me want to travel and help others travel and experience the wonder and excitement of new cultures, ancient cultures and architecture, and people around the world.
I have been fortunate enough to travel to six continents, on exhilarating experiences, such as: paragliding from 12,000 feet above Jackson Hole, white water rafting in Bali, hot air ballooning in Australia, discovering the Great Barrier Reef, climbing 500 feet above Sydney Harbour on the famous Sydney Bridge, walking ancient Olympia and Ephesus, and of course meeting the people and wandering the villages.
So, next stop will be Antarctica! And there is nothing more relaxing than cruising the Adriatic, the Mediterranean, the South Pacific, along South America and Alaska – so many destinations, and you don’t have to be on a mega ship!
